camelCase Converter

Convert any text to camelCase identifiers, as you type. Free, and runs entirely in your browser — nothing you enter is uploaded or stored.

About Case Converter

Ten conventions in one place: UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, Sentence case, camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, CONSTANT_CASE and tOGGLE cASE. The programming cases split on spaces, underscores, hyphens, dots and existing capital letters, so userID, user_id and user id all convert to the same result.

It is the tool you reach for when renaming across boundaries — a database column becoming a JSON field, an environment variable becoming a config key, a heading becoming a URL slug.

Where it helps

  • Covers editorial cases and programming cases together.
  • Recognises existing word boundaries in camelCase and snake_case input.
  • Converts a whole list at once, not one identifier at a time.
  • Local, so internal schema names never leave your machine.

Limits

  • Acronyms suffer: parseHTMLResponse becomes parse_html_response, and converting back does not restore the original capitals.
  • Title case capitalises every word rather than applying editorial rules about articles and prepositions.
  • Sentence case splits on ., ! and ?, so abbreviations like “e.g.” start a new sentence.
  • Locale-specific casing — Turkish dotless i, for example — follows JavaScript's default rules.

Frequently asked questions

What happened to my acronym?

Consecutive capitals are treated as one word, so HTMLParser becomes htmlparser in snake case. Acronym handling has no single correct answer, so nothing is guessed.

Which case should I use where?

camelCase for JavaScript variables, PascalCase for types and components, snake_case for database columns and Python, kebab-case for URLs and CSS, CONSTANT_CASE for environment variables.

Does it handle accented characters?

Yes, uppercase and lowercase conversion is Unicode-aware. Accents are preserved rather than stripped.

Can I convert a whole list of names at once?

Paste them all in. Line breaks are word boundaries, so the whole block converts in one pass.
