QR Code Generator

Create scannable QR codes as SVG. Free, and runs entirely in your browser — nothing you enter is uploaded, stored or sent to a server.

About QR Code Generator

The QR code is encoded here and rendered as SVG, so it stays sharp at any size — a business card or a poster from the same file. Foreground and background colours, module size and quiet zone are all adjustable, and the result reports its version and module count.

Error correction level is the trade-off worth understanding. Higher levels let a damaged or partly covered code still scan, at the cost of a denser grid for the same content. M (15%) suits screens and clean print; H (30%) is for codes that get a logo dropped in the middle or are printed on something that will be handled.

Where it helps

  • SVG output scales without pixelation, which matters for print.
  • Four error correction levels, so you can trade density for robustness.
  • Colours are configurable while contrast stays under your control.
  • Generated in the browser — a Wi-Fi password or a private URL is never uploaded.

Limits

  • More content means a denser code: long URLs scan poorly at small sizes, so shorten first.
  • Contrast matters more than colour choice; a light foreground on a dark background fails on many scanners.
  • The quiet zone is part of the specification, not decoration — removing it breaks scanning.
  • A QR code is static: the URL inside cannot be changed once it is printed.

Frequently asked questions

Which error correction level should I pick?

M for most uses. H if a logo will overlay the code or it will be printed on something that scuffs. L only when the content is long and conditions are clean.

How small can I print it?

Roughly 2 cm square for a short URL at typical scanning distance, and larger for denser codes. Always test with a real phone before printing a run.

Can I put my logo in the middle?

Yes, at level H, covering no more than about 30% of the area. Test afterwards — error correction is a budget, and the logo spends it.

Can I change where the code points after printing?

Not directly. Encode a URL you control that redirects, then change the redirect target later.
