UPI QR Code Generator

Make a UPI payment QR code that any UPI app can scan to pay you. Free, and runs entirely in your browser — nothing you enter is uploaded or stored.

About UPI QR Code Generator

A UPI QR code is an ordinary QR code holding a upi://pay link. Scanned with any UPI app — Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM or a bank's own — it opens a payment screen with your UPI ID and name already filled in, so the payer only has to confirm. Add an amount and it is filled in too, which is what an invoice, a fee or a fixed-price item wants; leave it out and the payer types what they owe, which is what a shop counter wants.

The payment card puts your name above the code and your UPI ID and the amount under it, framed and ready to print or share — the same layout the stickers at a shop counter use. Everything is made in this browser: your UPI ID, name and amounts are not sent anywhere, and the code talks to no bank. It only describes a payment; the payer's app is where the money moves, and only after they confirm.

Where it helps

  • Works with every UPI app, because the link format is NPCI's standard rather than one app's.
  • An optional fixed amount and note, so an invoice or a fee can be paid in two taps without typing.
  • A printable payment card with the payee's name, UPI ID and amount, as a PDF ready to print, PNG for sharing and SVG for design work.
  • A mobile-number UPI ID is shown as 98XXXXXX10@ybl on the card, so the number is not printed for everyone to read.
  • A small logo in the middle — the TechieUtils mark by default, or a ₹ badge, your initials or your own logo — with error correction raised so the code still scans.
  • Made in the browser: your UPI ID and amounts are never uploaded, and no account or merchant sign-up is needed.

Limits

  • The code is static: it cannot tell you a payment arrived. Check your bank or UPI app for that.
  • UPI apps show the payee name registered with the bank, not the one written on the card, and warn when they differ.
  • A single ordinary UPI payment is usually capped at ₹1,00,000, so a larger amount may be refused by the payer's app.
  • UPI settles in rupees: a code in another currency is written as asked, but UPI apps in India will not pay it.
  • Merchant features such as instant settlement and payment confirmations need a payment gateway's dynamic QR, not a static one.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my UPI ID?

In your UPI app's profile or bank-account screen — it looks like name@okbank, 98XXXXXX10@ybl or name@paytm. Each app can give you a different one for the same bank account, and any of them works here.

Should I put an amount in the code?

For an invoice, a fee or a fixed price, yes: the payer cannot get it wrong. For a shop counter or donations, leave it blank so one code works for every payment.

Is it safe to share or print my UPI QR code?

Yes. It holds only your UPI ID and name, which is what anyone paying you needs anyway, and it can only ask for money to be sent to you — never take any. Keep your UPI PIN private; no code ever needs it.

Why does the payer's app show a different name?

The app looks up the name your bank has on record for the UPI ID and shows that, which is a safety feature. Use the same name here so payers are not worried by the difference.

Can I make a UPI code in dollars or euros?

The code will say so, and the amount is shown in that currency's own format, but UPI apps in India only pay in rupees and will refuse it. For payers in India, use INR; for payers abroad, use a payment method made for their currency.

Why is my mobile number hidden on the card?

A UPI ID made from a phone number puts that number on everything you print. The card shows it as 98XXXXXX10@ybl instead. The code still holds the full ID — the payer's app needs it — so anyone who scans it can see it, but a passer-by reading the sticker cannot.

Does a logo in the middle stop the code scanning?

Not at this size. The logo covers about four per cent of the code, and error correction is raised to at least Q, which can rebuild a quarter of it. Keep the logo simple and high-contrast, and scan the result with a phone before printing.

Can I use this as a merchant?

For collecting payments, yes — a static code works at any counter. Add your merchant category code if you have one. For automatic payment confirmation or reconciliation, use your payment gateway's dynamic QR instead.
