Merge PDF Files

Join several PDFs into one document. Free, and runs entirely in your browser — nothing you enter is uploaded, stored or sent to a server.

About Merge PDF

Joins several PDFs into one, in the order you choose. Pages are copied from each document into a new one with their fonts, images, links and annotations intact — nothing is flattened into a picture, so the result is as searchable and as sharp as the files that went into it.

Everything happens in this tab. That matters more here than for most tools: the reason people merge PDFs is usually a signed contract, an expenses claim or a set of payslips, and the ordinary way to do it is to upload all of them to a website nobody has heard of. Nothing you choose here is sent anywhere.

Where it helps

  • Pages keep their text, fonts, images and links — nothing is rasterised.
  • Files can be ordered by name, which is what makes numbered documents come out right.
  • The documents never leave your browser, which is the whole reason to merge them here.
  • The result is previewed before you download it, so a wrong order is obvious straight away.

Limits

  • Password-protected files have to be unlocked first — remove the password with PDF Password Remover.
  • Any digital signature on the originals stops validating, because the result is a new document.
  • Bookmarks, form fields and attachments from the source files are not carried across.
  • The files together have to fit inside the 64 MB in-browser limit.

Frequently asked questions

Are my documents uploaded?

No. Both the reading and the writing happen in this tab, and no request leaves the page while a merge runs.

In what order are the files joined?

Whichever you pick: the order you selected them in, sorted by file name, or reversed. File-name sorting understands numbers, so chapter-2 comes before chapter-10.

Can I merge only some pages of a file?

Take the pages you want with Split PDF first, then merge the results. That keeps each step something you can check.

Why did it refuse my file?

Either it is password protected, in which case remove the password first, or the files together are over the 64 MB limit for work done in a browser tab.
