About Rotate PDF

Turns pages the right way up. Rotation in a PDF is a property of the page rather than a redraw, so nothing is re-rendered: the text stays selectable, the images keep their resolution, and the file barely changes size.

Rotate the whole document or only the pages you name, which is what a scan with one sheet fed in sideways actually needs.

Where it helps

  • Rotation is recorded, not redrawn, so quality and file size are untouched.
  • Individual pages or ranges can be turned without touching the rest.
  • Rotation adds to whatever the page already had, so it composes with an earlier turn.
  • The file stays in your browser.

Limits

  • It cannot straighten a page that is off by a few degrees — only quarter turns are possible.
  • Some readers ignore page rotation when printing, and print the original orientation.
  • Password-protected files must be unlocked first.
  • A page whose content is drawn rotated inside a portrait box will still look wrong; that is the document's doing, not the page's rotation.

Frequently asked questions

Does rotating lose quality?

No. The page is not redrawn — a rotation value is written into it, and the reader turns it when it displays.

Can I rotate one page only?

Yes. Name it in the pages box, or name several like "2, 5-9".

Why is my page still sideways after a 90° turn?

It may have started at 180°, in which case the turn adds to that. Run it again, or pick the other direction.

Can it deskew a crooked scan?

No. This does quarter turns; a scan that is three degrees off needs a scanner or an image editor.
