About PDF to PowerPoint

Turns a PDF into a .pptx deck, one slide per page, two ways. The text layout takes each page's first paragraph as the slide title and the rest as bullets, which gives you something editable. The picture layout puts a rendered image of the page on each slide, which looks exactly like the PDF and cannot be edited.

Which to choose depends on what you are doing. Text if you are rebuilding a deck and want the words to work with; pictures if you are showing a document inside a presentation and it has to look right.

Neither carries the original's design. A PDF made from a deck has lost the theme, the masters and the placeholders on the way in, and nothing here can put them back.

Where it helps

  • Two layouts, covering both the editable case and the faithful-looking one.
  • The .pptx opens in PowerPoint, Keynote, LibreOffice and Google Slides.
  • The picture layout reproduces the pages exactly, at a resolution you choose.
  • Everything happens in this browser tab.

Limits

  • The original's theme, colours, layouts, animations and speaker notes are gone and cannot be recovered.
  • A page of prose makes a badly overcrowded slide, which the text layout cannot fix.
  • The picture layout produces slides with no editable text at all, and a much larger file.
  • A scanned PDF has no text for the text layout; use pictures, or run OCR first.

Frequently asked questions

Which layout should I choose?

Text if you want to edit the words, pictures if the slides have to look like the PDF. They are genuinely different jobs.

Why are my slides so crowded?

Because a page of a document holds far more words than a slide should. The text layout keeps the first twelve paragraphs; the rest is a sign the PDF was never a deck.

Is the original design recovered?

No. That information was lost when the PDF was made — a PDF keeps the appearance of a page, not the theme that produced it.

How large will the file be?

The text layout produces a small file. The picture layout embeds a JPEG per slide, so a 40-page document runs to a few megabytes.
