About PowerPoint to PDF

Turns a .pptx deck into a PDF, one page per slide, with each slide's first line as its title and the rest as bullets. Pages can be slide-shaped at 16:9 or ordinary paper, depending on whether you are presenting from the file or handing it out.

What comes across is what the slides say. The deck's design — its theme, backgrounds, pictures, charts, diagrams, animations and speaker notes — does not, because reproducing it means rendering DrawingML, which is a rendering engine rather than a converter. Treat the result as a readable handout, not as a copy of the deck.

Where it helps

  • Every slide's text comes across, in order, with the first line as a title.
  • Slide-shaped or paper-shaped pages, in either orientation.
  • The deck is never uploaded.
  • The result is previewed before you download it.

Limits

  • The design is not reproduced: no theme, backgrounds, pictures, charts, diagrams or animations.
  • Speaker notes are not included.
  • Text boxes are read in the order the slide stores them, which is not always the order they are read on screen.
  • Only .pptx and .pptm are read; the old .ppt format is a different container.

Frequently asked questions

Why are my pictures and charts missing?

Drawing them means rendering DrawingML — PowerPoint's whole graphics model — which is far beyond a converter. The text is carried across; the artwork is not.

Are speaker notes included?

No. Only the slides themselves are read.

Which shape should I pick?

Slide-shaped keeps the 16:9 proportions of the deck. Paper is better if the PDF is going to be printed.

Can it read a .ppt file?

No — the Office 97-2003 format is a different container entirely. Open it and save it as .pptx first.
