PDF to WebP Converter

Turn every page of a PDF into a WebP image. Free, and runs entirely in your browser — nothing you enter is uploaded, stored or sent to a server.

About PDF to Images

Draws every page as a picture — PNG, JPEG, JFIF, WebP or GIF — at a resolution you choose. Use it to put a page into a slide deck, attach a diagram to a ticket, post a figure somewhere that will not take a PDF, or make thumbnails of a document.

Resolution is the decision that matters. 72 dpi is screen size, 150 is comfortable for reading on a laptop, and 300 is what a printer wants. Higher costs memory and time and rarely shows anything more, so the pages are drawn with a ceiling on total pixels rather than letting a 600 dpi A3 page exhaust the tab.

Every page comes back in a zip, and the first twenty are offered individually as well.

Where it helps

  • Five output formats, including WebP for the web and JFIF for systems that insist on it.
  • Resolution from 36 to 600 dpi, with the quality of the lossy formats in your hands.
  • Every page in a zip, with the first twenty also downloadable on their own.
  • Rendering happens in this tab using this application's own fonts and decoders.

Limits

  • A picture of a page is not text: nothing in the output can be searched or copied.
  • High resolutions over many pages are slow and memory-hungry; 300 pages is the ceiling for a run.
  • Very large pages are drawn slightly below the requested resolution to stay inside what a browser will allocate.
  • Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.

Frequently asked questions

What resolution should I choose?

150 dpi reads well on screen and 300 dpi is right for print. Below 100 the small type starts to break up.

Which format is best?

PNG for anything with text or line art, JPEG for photographic scans where size matters, WebP when the target is a web page. GIF is there for the rare place that still needs it.

Can I convert only some pages?

Yes — name them in the pages box, for example "1" or "4-9".

Why is my file so large?

PNG stores every pixel exactly, so a 300 dpi page is a big file. Drop to 150 dpi, or use JPEG for scans.
